Is it normal to think vaccines are not linked to autism?

People will believe anything. When the vaccine/autism link came out parents thought hey! there's the answer. It wasn't, but people are still stuck on it. Anyone who read the study would know...it shouldn't have been published in the first place. I can't believe people actually avoid vaccines because of this and now diseases that can be prevented are coming back like whooping cough. Is it normal to care this much? I just want infectious disease to be kept to a minimum.

You idiots who think vaccines are good for u and ur children r out of ur minds. There is no research whatsoever that shows vaccines work! It just another government ploy. I have not been vaccinated my whole life and yet, here I am heathy as a horse. Call me crazy!!!

my mum had this friend who had a son, and he got a vaccine when he was little (can't remember whether it was measles or mumps or something) anyway 3 days after getting the vaccine he started fitting and he has never been the same since. So yes, I do believe that.

I am totally for vaccination. A friend of mine has two children and she "immunised" them homeopathically. I do believe in natural medicine, but not to that extent to endanger the lives of children. My daughter was vaccinated at 6 weeks, advised by my nurse and for my own piece of mind.

Sometimes people feel better if there is something (anything) to point a finger at, or provide an explanation for that which they fear or do not understand. Sometimes this is easier than just embracing the fear or accepting the fact that not everything has an easy, rational explanation.

I completely agree. There is a rising tide of "media versus science" controversies. I am not a hateful man but there are some journalists I would happily hang from lampposts for the small minded shit that they peddle to sell newspapers.

If any of CJD, avian flu, swine flu, E Coli, salmonella from eggs, or the multitude of other things was as bad as they pretended, we'd all be dead by now.

    • Avian flu is supposed to kick the 1918 Spanish flu's ass but we'll see in about 30 years how that goes...journalists are definitely jumping the gun on that one. The fun hasn't even begun on that.
Prions are ridiculous but I agree that they don't need as much attention.
