Is it normal to think this about drug users?

Why does a drug user want to have the lifestyle of an insane person? I mean when you take your drugs you start to hallucinate like they do. Some drug users actually have gotten mental problem cause of it and the worse one do die of the usage of heavier drugs.
I just don't get it why they keep doing it to themselves. And don't say you just use the "harmless" weed. Indeed it is harmless to you but usually when using weed is often a start of using heavier drugs later. Causes: fantasise, hallucinate, cause a menal disorder and worse...death if you get into the trap of starting to experiment with the heavier ones.

I only smoke cannabis to relax, relieve anxiety, and to help me sleep and I occasionally use LSD for deep introspective thinking about my life. Hallucinogens are just a small category of drugs, but a terrific one. Hallucinogens are not used to get 'fucked up' by the majority of those who consume them. They take it to better themselves as it provides you with a unique and positive shift of conciousness, allowing you to explore places in your mind you could never travel to without them. Anything else is pretty lame in my opinion, but I don't hate others that take them just because they do, it's their choice. I would never take an addictive drug, it's not worth it.

Sounds like someone bases real life off the movies rather than scientific journals. ;P Thats quite alright son, about half of the world population are living in a fantasy provided by movies and television, thats it now, put your head down and join the masses like a good little sheep. :)

    • So watching troubled drug users on news is getting ideas from movies?

Well, you seem to think all drugs make you hallucinate, and you don't sound like you've educated yourself at all aside from what youve read on the news. Hell, Ive heard much more accurate accounts of the effects of drugs on the news. Might I suggest erowid.com for accurate information about what drugs actually do.

Protip: psychedellics (lsd, psilocybin mushrooms, peyote, ayawasca, etc) make you hallucinate.

people who use uppers (speed, meth) can develop psychosis, which with long term heavy use can cause hallucinations.

cannabis is "relatively" harmless as it has still not been successfully linked to lung cancer and is only dangerous to certain individuals with a predisposition to early onset mental illness, such as schizophrenia. in those such individuals recreational drug use can trigger the mental illness earlier in life, but while harder drugs can cause long term brain damage, cannabis can not.

You're short sighted on the entire cycle. Our society promotes drug use. Sugar and caffeine are greater gateway drugs than marijuana could ever wish to be. Anything you consume is a drug including food. It is easier to separate yourself from the heroin addict because popping Tylenol seems safer than a needle yet it kills more people each year. Smoke and mirrors my friend the rabbit hole goes deeper. Stop spreading D.A.R.E propaganda on the internet and use your head.

    • A corollary of this premise is that the distinction between hard and soft drugs becomes blurred because soft drugs are actually just one step below the use of hard drugs in the genesis of an addiction. And it also follows that the medicinal use of marijuana is unacceptable (despite its demonstrated effectiveness in certain disorders) because it will lead not only to marijuana addiction but addiction to hard drugs such as cocaine and heroin as well. Of course most people who experiment with hard drugs have first experimented with soft drugs, but this is no reason to assume that soft-drug use was a necessary first step or that it somehow goaded the individual into using hard drugs.
People who experiment with drugs tend to ‘experiment with drugs!' This leads to an increased likelihood of trying a highly addictive drug and developing an addiction. However, people can easily side-step experimentation with soft drugs and begin experimentation with heroin or cocaine if those are the only drugs available. The use of soft drugs such as marijuana in no way ‘propels’ most individuals into hard drug use. It’s even possible many that people who experiment with soft drugs somehow satisfy some adolescent need to try drugs as an expression of independence and social defiance, and if only hard drugs were available the incidence of drug addiction would be even higher.

Well to me it's a misunderstanding if you are already fucked up by life(depression, anxiety, nihilist, sick) drugs seem to make sense to me

Definitely normal. This is what schools teach kids. Using recreational drugs is for many people a crutch for pain. Sometimes it's just for fun. Sometimes it's because they don't know any other way. You can't generalize them. Plus, most drugs aren't hallucinogens. There are so many reasons to use drugs, you can't really pick out one.

Ahh the ignorence of non drug users always makes me chuckle. Its interesting how most drug users i know are intelligent and creative. You can barely string a sentance together. Go hide under your rock again kid, your mind wouldnt be ready for the awakening anyway.

You sound like a complete fool who sounds like he doesn't know what he's talking about and has no real experience of the matter. Don't just accept that drugs are bad because the government say they are and as such are illegal, there are a lot of economic factors that play a part regardless of the populations health. People accept morphine when they are in hospital due to it's widely accepted clinical applications but would the same people accept heroin in the same circumstances from a doctor? Probably not, people hear the word heroin and automatically associate it with recreational drug users but in fact heroin is a prescribable drug and when used in a clinical setting has the name diamorphine.

It sounds like you're judging and have a biased oppions about without really understanding the addiction aspect of it and how hard it may be for a person to actually quit once they've started. Still no excuse to start to begin with and I do agree with you regarding the consequences one can experience from taking some of the drugs you mentioned, however your points do not apply to marijuana. I smoke weed and am a college graduate with a full time job and no major health or mental problems. Marijuana is harmless.

There's nothing wrong in what you are saying.

The real issue is that many people have decided no one should interfere with their fun, and that consequences are all invented by the man to keep them down.

It all depends on the person, most drugs can be used as guides, such as LSD. Marijuana is more of a medicine, its all natural.

..because they're pressured into it, because they think they're immune to addiction or dying from using, because someone in their family does drugs, for fun or for a thrill, for pleasure, to relax, to experiment, stress, depression, major illness...plenty of reasons.

It makes me laugh that people are still into this shit knowing what we know now.

I'm sure that most drug users don't want to do drugs, but they're already hooked. There are additives to drugs that make them addictive and can cause terrible withdrawal effects.
If you ask them if they regret starting, they probably do, even if then don't admit it.

The smart answer of all the people who take drugs are actually interesting compared to your points ^^. Personally i smoke weed occasionally and i don't want to move on heavier drugs because i know myself. I'm sensitive and i loose control easily. Plus because we smoke weed doesn't mean we will become heroin user... Putting everyone in the same boat like you did is pretty ignorant.

Well i get what you mean, some of my friends were addicted to marijuana and they indeed do hard drugs today. But there goes the difference between the need to be high and just wanting to have a good time once in a while. We are all different, it's hard to judge if something is good or not i think it's how the person use it that makes it unhealthy.

Look at how almost more than 50% of the voters think that your perspective isn't normal. Means they don't agree with you. Just here we can pretty much know that a lot of people take or like drugs compared to those who don't. I am scared of what will happen to humanity after a few years.

The only reason most drugs are illegal is because the us wanted to get the geto guys in jail. I think the governmeant 4got about the purpose of illegalizing them in the first place and basically brain washed kids to think there so bad.

Any problems that a person has before using drugs will only dramatically increase after the use of drugs.

Drugs are an amplifier. Plain and simple.
I have had cigarettes, alcohol, marijuanna, cocaine, xanax (sp?), oxycodone, hydrocodone, adderal uhh...
xanaflex, abilify, prozac, pcp, salvia, zoloft, seroquel, oxycotin, lexapro, nuvigil, uh... I can't remember them all off the top of my head.

Yeah I tried a bunch of different stuff just for kicks. I smoked for 5 years but I quit because it started making me cough. But other than that I've never been arrested, never taken most of those more than a few times for kicks, never put my job or my life or my family on the line, in fact, none of them knew that I did it. I've always been a good student and hard worker, every now and then reality just got a little boring.

Mainly because I don't have major issues or any problems that couldn't be fixed by a nap or a weekend out of town. Sure I get stressed and have worries but who the fuck doesn't? Either way, don't classify us all in the same boat. I can't remember the last time I did any drugs but then again, I can't remember the last time I had the time!
