Is it normal to think the signals they portray are not accurate?

Movies and T.V shows always tell us the signs that a girl/guy is into us. But I'm stuck thinking this is total bull#!*%. Is it normal to think the signals they portray are not accurate? Once and for all ladies and gentlemen tell the world (or at least this site) what signs you give off when you're into someone?

Dead easy - if he/she holds direct eye contact with you for more than 4 seconds. You're in there!!

Yeah, on TV everything is made much more dramatic than real life for entertainment value. If TV was as boring as real life, well, it would be like the first hour of the Twilight movie, amirite? It would be super boring.

I am a female and if I am into a guy I will speak to him a lot, laugh at his jokes (even if they are stupid), a lot of direct eye contact, I'll seem very interested in what he has to say and playful touching (a love tap on the shoulder or something), and such reactions will become stronger the more you reciprocate.

That's because in the movies they want to make it obvious to the audience. And there's no real risks because the writers have decided exactly what's going to happen.

In real life, there's no set rules. You can't always tell. And finding out the truth is risky - you may get hurt if you tell him or her that you like them.

But if you don't take a risk... you also never find out either.
