Is it normal to think that today there is no need for royal families?

Today there are governments, presidents, prime ministers, etc. Why do we need royal families, what useful purpose do they serve today? The only thing I heard that they do is raise money for charities. Also the queen gets paid a dollar for everyone living in England. Now I may have my facts wrong, but could you please explain what useful purpose royal families serve to their countries?

There isnt any point but only because any royal family that there is today is allowing themselves to be shadowed by politicians, even celebrities contribute more to the higher part of societies chain. There COULD be a point to the royals, but at the moment, there isnt.

So yes, it is completely normal for you to feel and think that way.

The queen creates millions of pounds worth of revenue for the country. She also does have a lot of power but she chooses not to use it.

Britain's biggest benefit scroungers, just because their ancestors were some serious gangsters.

They're just figure heads. It's tradition. So they do it. It's just the way things are.

What purpose? The coolness factor, if course! I'm facinated by royalty. Maybe its the inner little girl in me that wanted to be a princess. I dunno.
