Is it normal to think that time travel is scary?

Can you imagine if it was actually doable, we can rewrite history at any point in time, and there would be people from the future who constantly keep in contact with people from the past and telling them what to do. Most likely if there was time travel, Hitler would have been assasinated when he was just a teenager.

There was a young lady named Bright,
    Whose speed was far faster than light;
    She started one day
    In a relative way,
And returned on the previous night

We travel forward in time at a constant rate, so on that level it is definitely possible. 'Real' time travel though has actually been proven possible by quantum physics. The experiment is dead simple. When a beam of electrons is shone through a double slitted sheet of material, the electrons will come out the other end and hit the wall behaving either as waves or as particles depending on whether they are being observed or not. If, however, the beam passes the sheet before an observer is introduced, it will still hit the wall as if it had been observed ever since its passage through the slits. It effectively went back in time to that point.
The grandfather paradox describes a scenario in which a time traveller goes back in time and kills his grandfather. This would prevent him from being conceived, but how could his grandfather be killed by him if he didn't even exist? Niels Bohr came up with some hair-brained sounding probability based answer to this question, but at this point science ends up getting mixed with philosophy.

maybe that's how you can destroy every living thing at once...

The double slit experiment does not show 'time travel'. This experiment highlights the fact that electrons can effectively be in two places at the same 'time'
Also when discussing 'time travel' its not helpful to think of time as linear. We don't move through time. This is a construct of Man to help us 'structure' the world. Time (if it even exists) is more like a fabric. This is often why it's called the space/time continuum. The two are inextricably linked.
In order to 'time travel' you don't move from point to point through 'years'. The theorized way would be to 'fold' space/time. Stay with me and I'll explain.....
Imagine a sheet of A4 paper, this represents space/time.
At one end is a dot (point A) at the other end a matching dot (point B). Neither is past, present or future (these are relative terms). In order to 'travel' from Point A to point B one would ordinarily move in a straight line across the page. 'Time' would elapse during this journey and when you arrived, all would be as it should be.
To time travel; We would fold the page moving the dots together until they touch. This is the folding of space/time. You haven't moved yet. When the dots touch, you would travel the short distance across, then 'unfold' space/time. Light years in a flash, effectively time traveling.
      But everybody knows this right?
In matters of universal travel; The spice must flow . . .

I can time travel into the future at the rate of 1 second to every second

  • If time travel ever happens it would create an alternate reality, so this one would remain unchanged.
There are 2 possibilities that could happen if you went back in time and changed things and returned to the future.

One is that after returning to the present you would return to where you came and everything you did changed nothing in that time line.

The other possibility is that you would return to the altered present where there would now be 2 versions of you. The present you originally came from would remain unchanged as well and you would never return to it.

Either way time travel cannot change this reality. It can only create new ones.

Maybe someone would kill Mohammed too along with baby Hitler.

Hmm..when you think about the endless possibilities of time travel, your dealing with the power of paradoxes and alternate realities and which is the real one. If time travel were possible, you could only go forward but not at a specific date considering probability and alternate choices. You could not go to the past because it already happened because of a certain choice already made.
Lesson? Kiddies don't play with the delorean.
