Is it normal to think that the beach boys are way underrated?

They have so many great songs!

I could easily say that Brian Wilson did more interresting stuff than The Beatles.

Interesting that you pose the question, because I have been listening to them a lot lately, and I must tell you....I agree!

I am listening to Pet Sounds (1966) and Wild Honey (1967) currently. Both great Lp's!

I like the beach boys! I agree that they are underrated. The Beatles are just as good in my opinion

I think they're fairly highly regarded as it is. Pet sounds is always listed amongst the best albums of all time.

They are already overrated as it is!!!
BBoys have said in interviews they felt like binning the Pet Sounds album after listening to Sergeant Pepper (came out same year).

They did babyish songs and lyrics and never really developed....

Yes, because albums like: Pet Sounds, SMiLE, Friends, Sunflower, Love you etc etc are undeveloped.

Sgt pepper didn't come out the same year as Pet Sounds.

Beach Boys even released Good Vibrations which is technically more advanced than Sgt Pepper.

They where even making a whole album thousands of times more advanced Than Sgt Pepper. Before Sgt pepper.

      That Being SMiLE. Youtube it.

Don't get me wrong. I LOVE The Beatles.

Thanks for replying. Well, that sounds interesting. I'll head to youTube and give some of that stuff a listen to. It's good to keep an open mind, I guess. I just keep thinking of a song I hate, "Help Me Rhonda" aargh! I shouldn't let that put me off, right?
