Is it normal to think that some people are demonic?

I'm sure I have met thousands of people, and yet I can only name 3 that are truly evil. I've watched them lie in order to get a laugh at someone else's expense, hurt people's feelings and even break up marriages and they enjoy every single moment of hurting others.

Now, I do have to say, that one of these is my mother! I told her that she delights in hurting other people and yet she goes to church! Makes me laugh!

As she screamed down the phone that she wouldn't want to live my rotten fkn life, I decided that, if that's how she feels then she shouldn't be involved in my life at all. So, I now ignore all her calls -knowing it's only to listen to her rotten poison and criticism of people.

She is elderly though and I wonder am I normal to push her out of her life as she seems to hate me so much? I hope some of you can understand this type of person but have been lucky enough not to have to deal with them.

    YOU'RE NORMAL. Props to you for showing this idiot that if she abuses you, she loses you! Old or not, if she's not worthy of respect, then ''respect your elders'' doesn't apply! My grandmother is a bitch, doesn't even send birthday cards! I'm not asking for a Ferrari or a Prada bag here - jst a bit of help would be nice! She ruined my family's life out here where I live since the first week we came here (I was 2), and we no longer speak to her. We've tried MANY times to reconcile, to no avail.

      I think we are supposed to respect our elders for their wisdom and usually they are more patient with kids etc but I lost all respect when I was about 12yo and she gave me one helluva beating for not being at home when my youngest brother got hurt and she was minding him. Nuts!

      I have never had a birthday card, present or party from my mother in my whole life and she sulked for 2 years when I had my first baby so she didn't have to visit to help me.

      She left me a nasty message on my phone yesterday to say, "Don't answer your phone coz I won't be ringing you again!" Good! But this will only last a couple of weeks - if I'm lucky. Im going to put your phrase - abuse me and lose me into my text draft to use with her at a later date. So, thank you for that.

      Anyhow, I've just been so ill, with so much to do for my own family that I don't have 4 hours every night to listen to her hatred for everybody. I have done this for many many years whereas my siblings don't bother. But I'm tired of it all. This isn't just water on a stone it's acid on my flesh.

      She's always been rotten and her physical age belies her physical ability - she has more energy than me!! I'm glad you think it's ok.

        Mind you, I'm not a total jerk - I respect elders who are cool, such as parents or professors, even including the ones who were really strict! Even when I've resented them/made light jokes abt them, I still respected them. These relatives, however, pose a risk to one's health and well being with their actions. One can't have that.

    Thats not evil thats ignorance combined with bitterness combined with a lack of self esteem.damn im good....but evil is very intelligent and picks and chooses who become their enemy and picks and chooses their fights based on rationality...shes just an mean idiot i know many of them forget about her and let her rot.shes no use to society or you.

      ...considering your response...I would say that you are the one that is ignorant...evil may be intelligent, but not wise or proper...and, in spite of your lofty opinion...no, you're not that good...often evil doesn't just pick battles...I had a man who was my cousin's husband who would pick fights over anything...the family would give him lots of space...and, while his arguments were usually intelligent, they were also usually evil in nature...I suspect her mother is either cantakerous or crusty, or perhaps she was raised that way...who knows.

    I usually will let my gas out around people like that...and then watch them turn their noses up wondering where the smell came from
