Is it normal to think that people hold double standars about whites?

The Civil Rights Movement was only about 40 years ago, not 200 years ago. And it's not like the poor treatment of blacks magically ended after that. I guarantee that no one has ever seriously held you personally accountable for anything involving what you are talking about, so don't feel so victimized. It's going to take some time and understanding to move on from how poorly people have been treated in the past. This kind of thing doesn't go away overnight. There are still people alive today that were denied their civil rights based on their skin color. Just be compassionate and you will be doing your part. Stop worrying about what other people think.

I have never heard of white genocides or white rapes being politically correct. The words genocide and rape are politically incorrect by themselves. You pulled that out of your ass because you were ranting.

Where I live it's the Hispanics and Blacks that seem to have trouble with each other. The cops are always putting our highschool on lockdown. It's horrible.

But, I understand you. I'm white and where I live, I'm the minority. They really try to make me feel shameful. But I don't fall for it. They are shameful for raising the race card. It goes both ways.

People just seem to hate on each other. They dont need a reason other than skin color and turf. Stupid.

The only reason why it is like this is because racism, especially towards black people, still exist today. I'm sorry, but no one's asking you to do anything that takes away from who you are. People just want whites to stop being to self-absorbed and oblivious to racism. Yes, some white people are not racist, but most are so used to, or oblivious to, their white privilege that they refuse to see what really goes on in the world. It's not about the past, it's about how the past still affects the present, and how most choose to ignore this.

Yes I'm a brown girl and I think it's unfair that it's ok for "black" people to celebrate their race, but when "white" people do the same it's deemed "white supremacy". When BET had that "black" girls rock show I could'nt help wondering how it would have been perceived if there was a "white" girls rock show. It should have been an American Girls Rock show!

I have white friends. However, I can also sense a racist a mile away. Racists get waht they deserve, and that's the way it should be

Its all to do with Shame..... when people feel shamefull, they do these things - dont talk about it, just accept the punishment.
It's too bad that people cant let go of the past, but the best thing to do is to be 'truely present' today - make it count, dont make it about race.

Maybe we should all agree that being white is fictional? I mean, your ancestors must have come from somewhere. Be that (irish, polish, georgian, sicilian, etc) instead of "white". I think the problem will solve itself.

And yes, many people forget about the coffin ships, the conscripted convict labor, the indentured servitude at the beginning of America and Australia.

This kind of reminds me of a song by Ben Folds called rockin' the suburbs. he's like "hey, i can't help what my great great great great grand dad did, don't take it out on me!"
