Is it normal to think that my life is important?

I feel that I'm supposed to do something great. I have ambitions to try to help the kids who grow up in hopelessness because I was there before. In my earlier teen years I was very depressed (like at 11-16) now I'm 17 and feel my purpose is to help as many people as I can. We can't change the whole world but we can make a positive difference in someone's life. I had no support from anyone growing up, now I'm here for everyone: I LOVE ALL PEOPLE:) I'm starting college this fall get ready world!!

He will lose this attitude as soon as somebody from college will punch him in the face without any reason.

Let's hope they attend a college that isn't in an alleyway behind a bar then.

No, because it's not. Millions of people have already lived on this earth, none of them were important, we are all just specs of dust, drifting in the wind...

I always get like you this time of year. I have a dull, repressed winter, but then the summer hits and I have a positivity earthquake which forms a tsunami of motivation :) There's not even any reason to feel like I do - I just am!

I don't feel particularly important, though. I've always felt I could change something important, but I've always felt that *anyone* could change something important if they dedicated the time to it. It's not so much fate or destiny as realising you have power and wanting to use it.

    Good for you.

Saying stuff like 'get ready world' makes me want to kick you, but your overwhelming positivity makes me want to not bother.

I hope you stay this way too because sometimes at the end of highschool you get that new found sense of purpose and feel like your ready to face everything and everyone and stand up for what you believe in, then you age and that oasis that was you heart becomes a desert .but if you age and keep that oasis in your heart, well props thats hard to do and is always something to be proud of. Wish you the best of luck :3( sorry for the english mistakes)

It's normal for each individual to believe they are different and somewhat special, but with age comes the realisation that you're not. (Continuing to believe yourself to be important will appear arrogant and deluded)
However, that is not to say you should give up if you want to achieve something great. Follow your dreams, you are capable of achieving them...... As much as anybody else. You are only as important as the rest of us.
