Is it normal to think that young people on TV act like fools and the media should be ashamed for glorifying their stupidity? I'm in my 20's so it's not like I'm some old fart that can't relate to the younger generation. I understand that it's fun to party but I'd hope that if there were a camera in front of me I'd have a little more respect for myself than to curse every other word, brag about the fact that I'm 15 and knocked up, dance around with cupcakes on my t!t$, or make out with a tranny in a hot tub. I feel like our society is going down hill fast if this is how people want to act in the public eye and half the people watching aspire to be like them. Does anyone else think that tv shows geared toward young adults are getting out of control?

    i agree
    it is not cool to be knocked up at 16, it is not cool to have rich parants that through you a massive party filled with people who dont realy like you, its not cool to brag about how easy your life is and how wealthy you are if you have done nothing to deserve it, i am refering to my super sweet 16 here
    i have 10 times more respect for someone that has came from nothing and made something of themselves, and doesnt brag about it, that is cool, they should make shows about these people who aspire to being a good person and dont aspire to having a better house than everyone else, amen
    by the way, mtv should be about music anyway

    I'm 24 an agree. Our generation is a joke. When people like Spencer an hiedi an jersey shore are considered entertainment, we have just fucked ourselves over for our future!
    The fact that these people who don't do shit an get paid for it while we have firefighters an police officers giving there lives an don't get shit in return. An I'm married to someone in the marine corps. We struggel from paycheck to paycheck. He leaves me an his kids for months an I go weeks without talking to him, not to meantion he is putting his life on the line. Then I see these stupid bitches on "basketball wives" complain about there man being gone .... ?!?! Makes me wanna puke.

    Oh yes. Like my facebook group says "if I got pregnant at sixteen, I would get my ass beat up, not my own tv show." And that's the truth. My parents would all but kill me (though they say they would o.o) not give me a TV show that seems to promote teen pregnancy.

    MTV should go back to what they used to do: play music videos.

    Reality TV shows do so well because people these days have short attention spans and like to see people make train wrecks of themselves on TV. These are the same people who slow down to look at a wreck on the side of the road, especially when the wreck isn't even on their side.

    Everyone wants their 15 minutes of fame. Some people seem to think their 15 minutes must last 15 years.

    Here in holland we got our own jerseyshore now.. Oh oh cherso.. And wtf is wrong with our generation. We seem to have completely lost our sence of self respect. At least there are a few people as us here who still have some self respect

    Ya, I'm amazed at the crap shows they have. Not just mtv either. I'm so sick of 'reality' everything. And whenever I do pass that channel its the 16 and pregnant and my sweet 16 or whatever the hell its called. I wanted to jump thru the tv when I decided to subject myself to a few minutes of these shows to see exactly what they were about. Its been a few years now that it really seems to be promoting kids to have sex as soon as possible. What the F! I remember in the early 90's they actually played music! Even now when they have 'music' videos, its all just a bunch of barely dressed women dancing to machines that make beats and practically sing for you. Not many 'artists' these days have any talent! In short, yes, mtv sucks balls
