Its a simple myth. The study was conducted with monkeys that were pumped full of marijuana with no additional oxygen causing their brain to shut down due to oxygen deprivation. I just can't believe how many people believe that marijuana kills brain cells without even knowing where this poorly done experiment came from.
let's make a plant (nature) be illegal because it makes people happy but make a toxin called alcohol and sell it which can make people become a danger to themselfes and others.
Alcohol is far more dangerous than marijuana and yet they sell it.
If it was true my dad would be dummer than a bag of hammers lol. He smoked quite a lot in high school but hasnt had a big effect on him. I even know kids that smoke a lot and actually they do quite well in school.
I smoke quite a bit of weed and I have a 3.8 GPA at university (which means I get mostly As). If you met me in person, you would never guess that I'm a pot smoker: I just don't fit the typical ignorant stereotype that non-smokers associate with marijuana.
People who think that it does kill brain cells or makes you stupid, are clearly misinformed or they are fear-mongers who like to perpetuate lies.
I think you're normal for not believing a bunch of propaganda and lies like the rest of these sheep do.

does this not prove to you people that although it doesnt do it quickly it does do it frequent use over several years will have quite simillar effect so dont be silly you are all enslaved to a plant.
Apparently the people commenting are ignoring the research that this person was kind enough to summarize for you. If you people want to falsify this persons claims, show some goddamn facts and don't just speak your opinions as truth.
I can't believe how many stupid people isolate one study out of a thousand and then go 'marijuana doesn't kill brain cells'. Yeah, they only did one study and you just debunked it genius!

brain cells die all the time and smoking anything is going to be bad...but marijuana.....o marijuana........people that dont smoke it think its like pcp and its gonna make u fly off building tops when really smoking anything only kills you after like 40 nonstop years of smoking it...well execept maybe meth and crack and stuff like that
Don't fool yourself into thinking it doesn't have serious effects on the brain though. The higher, pardon the pun, incidence of schizophrenia in users demonstrates that.
Sounds like you want this to be 'not true' so badly that your not looking at or for the facts. I dont have the answer, but it sounds like you have already made your decision - so just do what you want to do - whatever makes you happy.
