Is it normal to think that homosexuality is nurture, rather than nature?

I am curious as to what my esteemed site users thoughts are on this subject.

Nature or nurture?

I would also be interested to know if people regard homosexuality as a mental abberation and why they think so?

  • Homosexuality is normal even for some animals.

For example, some of my roosters occasionally try to mate the smaller roosters. They know that they're roosters, btw, because they sometimes fight with them and try to intimidate them as roosters do.

Perhaps less people would be strictly homosexual or heterosexual if it wasn't a big deal.

I wouldn't say you're born gay, but it's something you can't change about yourself. And everyone I know thinks it's normal and healthy.

You can make yourself more open to straight or gay relationships but you can't get rid of the attraction you already have.

I think it could be similar to a fetish. It's developed throughout your life, based on certain experiences. But I don't know. I'm just saying it's a possibility.

Well, straight parents try to raise their children to be straight, and some turn out to be gay/bi/asexual. So no, I don't think it's possible to be raised gay either.

The schools push the shit on the kids, so does the entertainment industry.

Yeah but we push back. Trust me, you bring up the facts and everyone will agree; much like SJW agendas where they try to teach that people are inherently racist. They can tell when they're being fed lies.

But there was gay people before that. Also tons of people are surprisingly still homophobic even with scientific proof.

I think there are a ton of psychological factors. Saying it's always 100% predisposed, even in the most accepting of societies, would be ignorant. That being said, the mental health issues in regards to homosexuality are not a sign of a lack of mental issues in regards to heterosexual individuals.

It's learned behavior, especially true now days with the educational system forcing it on young minds. Entertainment from top to bottom is full of it too pushing the "perception" it's normal.

But there was gay people before so. There is also scientific proof as to say that people are born this way. Its sexual desires and you can't control a desire.

I agree that birth has not really affect of your sexuality but it's completely fine.

Most people against it would probably use the definition of mental aberration against it ("deviation from what is normal, expected, or usual") but it would make as much sense as putting people who wear glasses in this category.

I honestly think it's a bit of both. I do not think anything is solely responsible for said outcome, it comes from a little bit of everything. Every life is a miracle, in my eyes.
