Is it normal to think that a relationship doesn't need sex to survive?

This is one of my biggest pet peeves ever. Apparently, every one thinks that you need to have sex with someone if you love them, that a relationship needs sex like a shark needs to feed.

THIS IS WRONG!!!

I love this beautiful, wonderful girl, I want to be with her, and I have NO DESIRE TO HAVE SEX WITH HER until (if) were married and she wants kids.

If you agree then vote yes. If you're one of those guys or girls that's just into someone for the sex, vote no.

Your last paragraph is a setup for getting people to reinforce your black and white view of this issue. It is not normal to believe sex and relationships are unrelated. The view that people can't want sex without being dishonest is also not normal.

Until the emotional attachment sets in, having sex can just ruin the relationship. There's no point in getting close to someone just for getting in their pants, might as well be fuckbuddies then.

If she wants to be abstinate as well, it's fine. If you both feel that you love each other (as in you're emotionally attached, not you want to bone the shit out of her), there's nothing wrong with sex in a relationship. Just don't build a relationship on sex or it'll fall apart.

A healthy relationship tends to have a little sex involved, even if it's not going down on each other (there's sexual things besides intercourse out there). So I'd say it's not normal.
