Is it normal to think that a phobia may be in one's dna?
Often wondered about one's phobias. Where do they come from? I heard it could be from an ancestor's memories and in one's DNA.

I don't think phobias can be explained really, or there would surely be medication for it.
Your genetic material determines everything about you. It can be influenced by your environment, which is called epigenetics. So yes, your phobias are affected by your DNA, in one way or another. The ancestral memory thing would not be credible. We do not inherit memories.
Maybe maybe not. I for one have a fear of small spaces but that was due to my brother locking me in a closet when I was younger and I was stuck in there for 4 hours. Traumatizing situations can cause phobias which would have nothing to do with a relatives memories.
