Is it normal to think someone wants to put a spell on me?

The other day I found a little twig in my handbag which I had kept in the staff changing room. I can't find any plausible explanation for this, other than someone having placed it there. I know that one of my colleagues believes in something like magic or witchcraft, as it came up in conversation a few months ago. Has anyone heard of this or knows what kind of spell this could be? is it normal to think that she wants to put a spell on me?

    I think
    1. You're being paranoid. Chances are the twig fell off a tree and landed in your bag weeks ago while you walked somewhere and it took you this long to find it; that's what I'd think if I found one.
    2. I never heard of magic that required a twig to be placed in your bag, that's ridiculous.
    3. MAGIC ISN'T REAL.

    I think you've watched too much Harry Potter. Or maybe read too many Mercedes Lackey novels.

    Are we talking a twig from a tree branch or what?
    If that's the case, there's no need to worry, twigs are a sign of intelligence. It's not a curse, but a gift. Someone has blessed you with the power of gaining more knowledge.

    What if someone put the twig in there as a form of protection (like a charm). What kind of tree twig is it? Is it Elm, Holly, etc? How big is it?

    Is it a normal stick? Cut it open and check what's inside before you go to an airport.
