Is it normal to think seeking to start a relationship is shallow?

I think anyone impatient enough to turn to a dating site or who wastes time doing nothing but trying to pick up someone like it's as simple as fishing doesn't deserve to find love. Love isn't something you can just go out and force to happen. It has to happen naturally if it's true. Those people who think their perfect partner is determined by what interests they list on a dating site profile don't know what love is. True love is difficult to define, and I think if people can explain why exactly they love each other it's not real. Love is complicated and if they can explain it it's not complicated enough to be love. Computers can't tell you who you will love, so people should stop using dating sites. It's sad that people are so shallow. Love can't be manufactured like a corporate product, it has to be magical. It's best if it takes you by surprise. But love isn't magic now, people just look for someone who likes some of the same things and has sex with them if they're hot. Sometimes I think true love isn't even going to exist soon as dating sites take over.

You do have to put in some effort though. How can you expect to find love if you don't meet people or open up to them. It's not like you'll be sitting on your couch one day and a stranger will knock on your door saying, "I'm your true love! Let's get married!" Also, there has to be a certain readiness that you are ready for a relationship and you do try to meet new people. I don't see how it's shallow.
