When I come across people with really embarassing/dumb names like "Peter Hunter" or "Dick Wiener"...I cant help thinking "Change IT"!
Whay should people keep awful given names their whole lives? is it normal to be offended by peoples stupid names?

I would certainly change my name if it cause me embarrassment or grief or was just stupid.
I used to work with a Mike Hunt. He preferred to be called Michael. Especially announcing his name over the PA system.
Have you seen Mike Hunt? Ben Dover! It's an order! Mike Rotch is always itchy. Hmm I had another one but I forgot it but you can Jack Mehoff.
My favorite is a Dr. Glasscock. Gets me every time. Why wouldn't you change that?

I think that, for the most part, people with funny names have a sense of humor. If not, Dick Trickle would go by Rich, Rick, or Richard. I knew a Mike Hunt and a Jack Horner who played off their own names all the time.
@random jelly - I do live in the US... Apparently my friend who had their name changed lied about the price o.o he said it was 500 dollars plus other fees or something..
If people are constantly teasing you about your name, and you fell embarassed, then go ahead and change it.
I knew a guy in high school whose last name was Kuntzman, (I might have mispelled it, but it's close.) and a girl named Autumn. Kids constantly called the girl "Fall" because they knew it really made her mad. And... you can probably guess what they called the guy. I felt really bad for both of them.
My point is this: if you're embarassed about your name, and if you'd feel better about yourself if you changed it, go ahead and change it.
Who cares? I'd feel like I was slapping my mother in the face if I changed the name she decided on for me.
^ wtf? Where do you live that it's that expensive? It's nowhere near that much in the US.
They can't help it, and it's at least 500 dollars to change your name, that's a decent bit of money if people have more important expenses to think about.
I love when people have names like that!!! If I had a weird name like that I'd keep it for the novelty.
I know some one named Gagundeep (Gaggin' Deep) and Anita Ho (I need a Hoe) :D

It's not the names that are stupid, it's your mind.
Your mind makes them stupid, our stupid and inmature "culture" makes them sound idiotic or wrong.
you see someone's name dick and you think of a penis. That's just stupid. But whatever. The ones that are supposed to change are our minds and not other people's names.
