Is it normal to think people on the internet are "magical unicorns"?
I've noticed this problem I've been having for several months now. This is gonna sound so dumb, but...
You know how a lot of writing on the internet is done by people whose faces you can't see? For some reason that really gets to me. Whenever I read some post by anyone who I don't know how they look in real life, I get this idea in my head that they are like some special, magical unicorn or something...I imagine that they live in some alternate universe that is better than the one I'm in and I feel left out. When I try to think through it logically -- like "Okay, HOW are they special?" I CAN'T figure it out. It isn't logical.
What makes me feel better is seeing photos of posters (Yes, that does sound creepy, I know) because that way I am reminded that they are REAL regular normal people. When I go outside I see regular looking people and when I read on the internet I read really interesting little stories and experiences. And I feel confused because are they really the same people? Somehow I don't believe that.
No troll answers please, I am getting desperate. Thanks.
