Is it normal to think of school like this?

For once, a humorous post from me. At school, in the hallways & at the track for PE, I tend to think of it like traffic & get road rage. People will walk at an eighth of an mph, walk in a way that takes up the whole hallway or track, and get pushy. Most ironically, as anyone who's read my 1st post would know, I'm extremely mild whilst driving. So, INN to get road rage in school?

When I was in year 7 (i.e. the youngest in school) I made the analogy that everyone in the corridors was like a different type of boat. The big scary 6th formers and teachers were like huge cruise ships which you'd have to avoid against the current or be crushed, and us tiny year 7s were only little rowing boats. But now *I'm* a cruise ship now, muahaha >:D

I have the same thing in my school, but now I'm in the sixth form and I'm still smaller than most of the year 9s. :(

Well yes I think it is like that. Also if you want to go somewhere it is much easier following the current. If you go the upstream you crash into a bunch of people. Like you would on a road. You must go and if you miss your pass or going the wrong way you have to find the next pass or clearing to go the way you are heading. Though you have to do all of this in time before you get to class(work) and if you are late get a penalty.

  • I was the embodiment of the expression "road rage" when we sailed into this island bay the other day. One of the tourist activities is parasailing. The idiot driving the boat (with the long cable attached to the parachute people are tethered to up in the air) seemed not to notice until I (quite vocally) pointed out that if he continued to pass us, his cable would become entangled in my rig and the people he was supposed to be giving a good time would end up dying due to his stupidity. He got angry, of course. I then pointed out that he had an engine and I was under sail, so at that point (and in that circumstance) he had more maneuverability then I and, therefore, the responsibility to get the fuck away from my rig. Dumbass.

Road rage doesn't just exist on the road. It happens quite often while walking the streets of Forte de France, Martinique as well. Similar to your school hallway experience.
