Is it normal to think of buildings like this?

I think tearing down old buildings should be avoided whenever possible. It's sort of sad to me to lose the history passed in their halls, and I don't like all of the waste it creates. It may cost more to repair, and it may not be as easy as making a new place, but the old would feel more like home to me. IIN?

Yes I know what you mean... my elementary school was recently torn down, that was the greatest school ive ever seen, made of brick and had a couple stained glass windows, it was from about the 30s i think, plus it had all the memories... I looked in it one last time before it was gone, so sad and eerie because it was all dark and empty with some things still on the chalk board... I love old buildings and exploring then, they have such a cozy feeling

Yes it's true that demolition is sad but when you have a strong love for architecture or buildings it always hurts to see a hurting structure. But I don't know if you feel the same

Yeah, I see why you would feel that way. Where I come from there are a ton of old buildings used in a very common manner.

But when a building is poorly maintained over the course of decades, the structural integrity may be compromised and it might not even be safe for people to go in and repair it. That's more the fault of the owners of the property if anything. Poor maintenance can "total" a building so to speak, and sometimes it's just not worth the cost.

    Dear homeless person.

Find a new condemned building to squat in.

    Sincerely
    Faceless.
