Is it normal to think money has brought selfishness among us?
I'm always thinking about how the world has turned into something that I feel it shouldnt have been. Money is great. It allows you to get things and provide for yourself, but nothing in this world can be done without money. If you havent noticed the whole world relies on this money system. You can't go to the beach without haveing to pay 75 cents to park your car for an hour. You can't go visit your family who lives across the globe without haveing to pay $400 for you flight ticket. Money is a man-made thing meaning that without it we can survive. Now don't get me wrong, money is awesome it can get you a brand new car, a fast computer, and ipod, a tv, but these things aren't what brings importance to life.
I belive all this violence that is going in our world today is becuase of money and the things that money can get you. People who can't afford extravegent things might feel as if they would have to take it from the ones who can, cuaseing conflict. Think about all the roberies and the people who get hurt and killed in between them, especially the inocent ones.
I am aware that without money we wouldnt have as many doctors as we do, police officers, firefighters, ect. But we are so wrapped around this money system that if someone doesn't have money or enough money to buy food, they starve? If someone doesnt have money they don't get aid? Or if someone doesnt have enough money to pay for their house they deserve to live on the sidewalk? And yes I know we have built food shelters and homeless shelters to prevent this but if there is such then why is a child dieing every 6 seconds from starvation?
I tried to make my point as best as I could, but It's really hard to find the right wording. Point is does anyone else feel that money has brought alot of success in our society but at the same time cuased destruction among us, greediness, and selfishness?
