Is it normal to think men are babies when sick

Just what the title says. Women don't get a break when sick. Still expect to keep plugging along making sure everyone else is ok. Men whine about every little sniffle and body ache. It's just my observation. If it's not true for you, let me know.

I don't whine, but I become much more irritable, cranky and impatient when I am sick. I guess this gives the illusion I am reverting to childhood, but the reality is I am just pissed off and miserable that I'm sick.

I do because,I know my Gf going get me a drink or food when I am sick. So why get up and everything when she can just do it for me?

Pah, good bit of sexism there. Im a man and I don't whine and lie in bed when I'm sick, I just get on with it. However, my girlfriend whine's like theres no tomorrow and lets everyone know thats she sick and incapable of doing anything

My family is the exact opposite. My dad works even if he has a 104 temp and hes done that on multiple occasions and never whines. My mom whines about every damn thing and says she's sick all the time, litterally.

Haha wow. I never thought about it before, but it does seem true. I remember growing up, whenever my dad was sick, he'd spend the day in bed whining and making my mom get him more blankets or something to drink or whatever.

But when my mom was sick she kind of just went about her day. She might have taken a day off from work for being sick now and then, but she certainly never spent the whole day in bed whining and making people do stuff for her.

And my boyfriend is the same way. He's not as bad as my dad, thankfully, but he still usually wraps himself up in blankets and doesn't really do anything. But when I'm sick, I certainly don't lie around feeling sorry for myself.

I dunno. Do men get it worse when they get sick or something?

Are you kidding? I've seen WAY more whiny, needy sick women than whiny sick men.

women have to go to work even though they are having period cramps. And those not only hurt a lot, but also exhaust you

Oh my gosh yes. My dad is ridiculous when he is sick. He mopes around and acts like he is in so much pain, but when he thinks no one is looking...he seems to act a lot less sick. HAHA!

I think it can be true for some men... Just as it can be true for some women. Some people just don't handle being sick and/or in pain, very well and they come across as being "whiners". I can understand why. No biggie to me.

Its true society has forged progressively more effeminate men, however, there is another answer that probably contributes to this more. Men deal with external pain better (getting punched, cut, etc.) and women deal with internal pain better (giving birth, etc.). There are actually some good scholarly articles and papers concerning just this phenomenon and the explanation I gave above. They argue that it is evolutionary. It at least seems plausible to me

No one knows how to take care of a baby better than a woman.

    "Women don't get breaks"

Women are strong. How could a woman raise a baby to a man if she wasn't strong?
