Is it normal to think incest is ok if you're both homosexual?

Mmkay, I saw a Jeremy Kyle episode (for Americans, it's a bit like Jerry Springer) where two guys who met on the internet find out they may be related, and it turns out they are half brothers.

One brother was adopted, so they grew up totally seperate, never knew each other until they met online and fell in love, they were engaged when they found out on the show that they were related.

is it normal that I don't really see what the problem is? The show was making a big deal about how they couldn't be with each other any more, but i don't see why not? I mean, they were strangers and it's not like they are going to have kids together, what's the problem?

I'm straight and female BTW.

"incest is OK if you're both homosexual".... ?

So if they were male & female it would be wrong then?
Why? I mean hell there's birth control.

    • Theoretically, if a brother and sister had never met until they were both adults, and they were on 100 percent failsafe birth control like the coil, then I suppose I'd think that was OK too.

        • Look, if you wanna fuck your brother and you want to invent some supposedly bohemian, hipster reason why that's ok in order to justify it to yourself, that is just fine. Most people morally object to incest, myself included. Not because we're squaaare, man, or because we don't want you crazy kids to have fun, but because it's sick and fucked up. However, the caveat of them being seperated at birth means they didn't enter the situation willingly, and that they are basically strangers to each other.

"Look, if you wanna fuck your brother"

Since when did I have a brother?

I'm just asking what the difference is really. Why are you so upset about having questions asked?

"However, the caveat of them being seperated at birth means they didn't enter the situation willingly,"

Not so true. "separated at birth" does not unilaterally mean "unwilling" when it comes to the siblings having sex with each other. There are some exceptions but most times people KNOW about the siblings.

And if the couple choses to continue the relationship then that's clearly now something they did of their own free will, knowing exactly who they were having sex with.

Well lets be honest, is there any straight guy who haven't dreamt of having sex with twin sisters? (not his sisters of course)

As soon as hot twin sisters are involved everyone suddenly forgets about incest.

I think incest is wrong no matter what your sex or orientation are. I see a lot of incest supporters, but that's your family, yo. That's your blood. Why would you be attracted to it?

Now use that thinking against homosexuality.

"That's your gender. Why would you be attracted to it?"

If it doesn't hurt anyone, I do not see anything wrong with it. I am against having a child throu incest though. My reason is obvious.

Because homosexuality has been normal throughout pretty much all of recorded history, because it's normal to want to be intimate with another person regardless of gender.

But family crosses a crucial line, inbreeding creates genetic defects. But it goes deeper than that, we're biologically programmed to not be attracted to our family because of that.

Love should be love, but doesn't it seem unfair to say that homosexuls can have incestuous relationships while straight people cannot? That kind of thinking could just start another civil rights movement, because what's allowed for one should be allowed for all.

Maybe I'm narrowminded here, but it seems like there's something essentially different from a man loving a man and someone loving their brother... I'm usually one of the most openminded people you could meet, but for some reason incest gives me the heebie jeepies.

Just because something is abnormal doesn't make it "wrong".

I can't see why people shouldn't be allowed to be in an incestuous relationship. But like I said, Childbirth is a no no.

Simply because of defects etc etc.

"but doesn't it seem unfair to say that homosexuls can have incestuous relationships while straight people cannot?"

          I am for both.
