Well not everyone but whenever someone is rude to me or gives me a weird look I think, "It's because I'm black! They're racist." There was this really old white guy who was nice to the customer in front of me, but then was soooo mean to me and I started crying & kept thinking "racist asshole!" IIN
No. Not everyone is doing it because of the colour of your skin. Don't pull the race card. Seriously. Because you will get arguments. Everyone has a bit of racism in them, but I think that thinking everyone else is being racist to you because of your skin is racist. Not all Whites and Asians are racist like that and if you think that then it IS racist.
Well racism is present in all ways.... but don't you think you're being racist for thinking that a white person is being racist just because they're rude to you? What if the man in front of you is a frequent customer? Your own racist views may be causing you to think other people are racist. Do you think voting for Obama just because he was black wasn't racist?
There's racist people in every race, but everyone isn't racist. When you feel like you've encountered someone who is truly racist, just ignore them and let it roll off of your shoulders. That's what I've been doing. If you get angry and cry, you're giving that person the reaction that they want. It makes them feel powerful and in their sick and twisted mind, they're actually convinced that maybe they really are superior to you. Just don't let racists get to you, because while you're busy feeling hurt and angry, they won't be losing any sleep over how they've treated you. A part of dealing with racism is being strong and blocking out the drama that's associated with it.
It's normal, but not for the reasons you think:
Everyone is racist because everyone BELIEVES in the socially CONSTRUCTED categories of race. Genetically speaking, we're all one species (which if you twisted a scientist's arm, they'd say that was a race, compared to the race of primates or the race of squid, etc etc).
Racism is like a fucked up Tinkerbell, everyone keeps clapping. Time to grow up, humanity.

Well if you think everybody who's white and asshole to you is racist maybe you're a racist. Maybe they are too?

Some people are racist, and it's wrong, but the idea that EVERYONE is racist is stupid. In fact, I have heard of some racist blacks. My sister is a police officer and she was chaseing a black who commited a crime. When she cornered him, he told her that she was only going after him because he was black, and then he demanded respect. He commited a crime and he wanted resect. I'm not saying that you're racist, I'm just saying that anyone can be racist, but not everyone is. I hate racism, it should die...
I'm white. I was taught that noone is better than the other. Every one poops and it stinks. So much is talked about racism and who hates who. When I was a teen when I a saw a black person In school i didn't think of color. I saw a person. Now, with everyone calling someone a racist I don't try to start a conversation or smile. I used to, until I would get smacked talked back to because I made eye contact and smiled. Now I don't know what to do. Too many angry people out there.

I'm racist as fuck, and I know racism when I see it. Going by your story I can tell since you watched how nice he was to the customer in front of you, you were seeking out racism. So you looked for it even deeper when it was your turn in line.
Yeah, it's normal to be slightly paranoid. But it's not always because you're black. Not to make you even more paranoid, but maybe it's because of something else. In my opinion, a lot of people use their race or other cultural identifier to hide their other flaws. Avoid pulling the race card, confront your problems.

Yes it's normal. I am also a person of color and being treated differently or having weird things said to you sucks eggs. Through my experiences, I have found out that even the best of (white) people are slightly racist. People in general are racist, but don't let it get you down... just know that you're here (I assume in America), and that's where you're gonna stay.
Yep racism still exists and it's always the minorities that get the shitty end of the stick
