Is it normal to think every change in speech has a meaning?

When I'm talking with other people, I tend to notice even the slightest changes in their tone or speaking patterns, and I think those changes all have a meaning. Or when they show facial expressions, I tend to notice even the smallest differences.

Often, I think that they don't actually mean what they are saying or that they are actually insulting me. When I talked about this with one of my friends, he just said I'm thinking too much.

I think he's right, since sometimes this becomes a problem when I don't know how I should react to what others say.

Most of the time, if someone is trying to mean something, they will make it obvious. you just need some practice, to find out when someone's deliberately doing something, or when someone is lying etc.

people's feelings are conveyed through their actions. you might be a little too analytical, but you're definetely on to something.

They all have different meanings, but you're reading them wrong. Paranoia makes for an awful mind.

i suggest you look up OCD before accusing people of having it. everyone does this, but nobody knows what it actually is. it's where a person has repeating negative thoughts, such as wanting to kill people, and then they do repeated actions or behaviours to help them stop having the thoughts, such as constant hand washing. does this person fit either of those criteria? no. in fact their behaviour in no way has anything to do with OCD.

they are more likely to be simply autistic.
