Is it normal to think associate letters with colors?

I'm not like that with letters/colors, but I do understand what you're saying.

I think about sounds in terms of shapes and images all the time. Also, I tend to associate feelings with certain colors and landscapes.

Completely normal. Just another quirk of the human mind. :)

Yeah I do it too. But I do it with the months of the year. Like April is yellow, may pink, October green, December purple etc.

Yeah it's synesthesia. I associate colors with the days of the week and I can "see" sounds and music.

I associate different colours with years - i.e. 2006 was light pink, 2000 was green etc I think I associate the colours with how the overall year made me feel :)

"4" makes me think of a light salmony pink color.

A Mango-shaped Space is an awesome book. I read it cause I liked the premise. I don't have these associations but I think this book would help some people that do. Good luck.
