I just love accents, and it's especially adorable when someone is trying to speak in English, and they'll mess up their words. I don't know why but it's so endearing to me. Especially people with German accents.
Weee! It's only because you're American. :P If you were from London you'd think I had the worst accent in the world. Plus you'd be scared of me!
I'm from Nottinghamshire. We would say I'm going to the shops, as goin t'shops. Hearing my voice is torturous.
Ahh, I don't mind it. I've got friends from Nottingham itself and they just sound northern to me, like me but without the Manc twang. Derby is much odder. Every time I go there someone calls me "duck".
love im from yorkshire. if i said "im off to go get the lion the witch and the wardrobe, it would soound like "am off to go geh lion, witch n wardrobe"
Some people at uni thought I was talking a different language hah. I don't use the word duck because I think it's really patronising.
I dunno, I'd say mine is annoying, but other people wouldn't think so.. or maybe they would? I think it's pretty subjective. Like, I may find your accent pleasing. I really find Northern (English) accents great.
You're right, I don't know anybody who likes the sound of their own voice actually except politicians (David Cameron's a cunt!!). What accent do you have?
I'm from Central Pennsylvania, and although my grandparents have sort of PA Dutch (German type dialect, they say things like 'aint' and 'It don't matter', which makes me cringe.) my accent I suppose is more of a standard American accent. But I really wish it was more interesting, I often sound like a robot.
Yes. A lass with a nice Southern Twang just melts my heart, same with a soft-spoken German fraulein.

People from outside of Canada say us, Canadians have accents... I don't here it...
I am English but i do like the English accent but the Australian accent really makes my heart flutter.
I can talk in the accent too but i sound like a dude if I do.
Maybe you should be a English tutor. I am sure that people trying to learn English would appreciate someone as patient as you.
The other day my boss and I were on the phone with tech support for some European company and, my god, he had the most adorable British accent. You're completely normal.
I like it too, even when they type, and they mess up little things but I can still understand them, it makes me smile and I think it's really cute, usually the way russians, or japanese people write is like that. c:

I love accents and for some reason people like my voice. i dont think i have one i was raisd half in the south half in the north my mom was from somwhere in the middle and my step dad was from michigan. down south they call me a yankee up north they call me a flatlander in my shrinks office they call me crazy....

Maybe it's time someone wrote another post about it, especially as we've got newish users from exotic places (kelili, disfunkshinal) and there's a growing number of Europeans with first languages that aren't English. I'd kind of like more Asian people too. I know they're on the site! Oh, and there are Russians too. And dinz should join in! Fush and chups! :P
