Is it normal to think about specific historical figures so often?

There isn't a day that goes by that I don't imagine that George Washington has come from the past and I am the one showing him around the present. I imagine telling him how all new technology works in ways that he could understand it. I'll be driving alone in my car or walking down the street and will think of exactly how I would explain to him how cars and light bulbs work but in a ground up approach so that he can understand it. I imagine explaining to him how differences in society work and how they've changed since his time. This happens a few times a day whenever I'm alone. It's almost as though I'm obsessed with him but have never read a biography or really studied his life at all. Does this happen to anyone else?

Sure. It's just your imagination running wild, targeting one specific person--in your case, a historical one.

Why, I used to imagine jamming together with The Beatles. All four of them.

I'd imagine scenarios like that, except that I imagine myself, clad in futuristic armor, (Like Metroid and Halo mixed together) rounding up John Paul Jone, Abe Lincoln, and a whole huge list of historical heroes and heroines, ready to defend the world from the army of everything that is bad. I should be a writer or something. ;)

You should put that imagination to use. Have you ever thought about writing a book?
