Is it normal to tell your mom she shouldn't have had kids?

So my mom came in my room and just started talking about this stuff. We talked about a lot and stuff about growing up came. She said how she always hoped we would grow up like my aunt raised her kids,in like this perfect little world and I said well it was your decision to raise us in the situation you did. She got really upset and I told her its her fault for choosing to have kids with someone she knew was an alcoholic and wasn't going to change. And she cant expect a fairy tale from an alcoholic and she got really upset.I feel very bad about saying this and I know it had to hurt her a lot. I love my mother and she made the best out of the situation, however I still feel as though she made a bad decision to have four kids with the person she did.

Idk maybe it was good to get it out but you should have told her that you thought she did the best she could and that you love her. Add in some positive to your negative might have helped her feel better about herself and let her know that she was a good mother just made a bad decision.

I have felt this way for as long as I can remember, I never wanted to tell her. I have always left her notes about fights we had, I have been doing that sense I could write. I cleaned the house while she was sleeping and wrote her a note telling her I lover her and everything. But I know she has to still be hurting.

I never knew my Dad, he had to go away when I was little because he was ill, he had a disease which meant he had to keep getting drunk all the time - Derek
