Is it normal to taste beggin' strips dog treats?

Whenever I buy beggin' strips, I smell them. They smell really good, so I thought "Well.. if they smell this good, imagine how they would taste." and so, i tried them. I've tasted them on multiple occassions. The first time, with my neighbor (who's the same age as me). We both thought they were gross. But, is this normal?

    Did it with my horses food. That's pretty much the same thing. I tried it a few times

    I tried the oreo lookin cookies they are awesome! We called the company an they said they are perfectly fine for human consumption. I dont know about the beggin strips though. Were they good?
