Is it normal to take up to 7 hours to fall asleep?

For as long as I can remember, I haven't been able to fall asleep unless a lot of conditions are met (Sleeping with a body pillow, very cold room, fan running, etc.) and even then it sometimes takes 7 hours to fall asleep. If this helps with the question, I have clinical depression which is known for causing some sleep deprivation.

I've had many'a nights where I tossed and turned for an eternity. It can take anywhere from 1 to 8 hours for me to fall asleep. Sometimes I have the luxury of sleeping half the day away, but other times I can't because I have my morning job and I'm a damn cranky ass zombie, but the doggies make it a little better. Harrumph. #dogbather, holla!

Same here. It takes me hours to fall asleep while it only takes minutes for my dad. It’s sucks that I gain hairy legs from him but not that. But trying drinking chamomile tea, I heard it makes you drowsy.

It’s not normal, but I’m the pot calling the kettle black. Don’t you hate when your alarm goes off right when you start to drift off? 🙃

It’s normal (especially with depression), even though I don’t have any depression/other mental health issues, it regularly takes me 2-3 hours to fall asleep.

That doesn't suprise me in the slightest that youd have a hard time sleeping
