Is it normal to take metamucil because i like to poop big?

I usually have long, huge poop anyway but I take metamucil to add even more bulk. It gives me more of a greater urge to push, and it gives me loads of gas that is usually blocked by my thick bulky load. I don't do this all the time but I may take 3-4 cups of metamucil when I want to take a big shit. Does anyone else do this?
