Is it normal to straighten out tin foil?

Every time I see crinkled up tin foil like things, I obsessively straighten them out so that they are not crinkled

    That must really annoy paranoid people who make tin foil hats. Especially if they don't know you're doing it.

    I do both. Crinkle it into a ball ten try to smooth it out! It is never the same! :(

    I do the opposite. I crinkle it into a little ball to see how small I can make it.
