Is it normal to still want to kill your ex?

My first boyfriend dumped me a few years ago, and we had only been dating a couple of months. He accused me of cheating, when I found out a week later that he had been cheating on me throughout the relationship, and only dated me to "get a girlfriend." He was (and is) completely arrogant, and thinks that he's the smartest person around. Two years of my life have been ruined because I was still hurt, and could never really get over it, nor could I ignore it. But I saw his Facebook profile for the first time in forever, and I just got REALLY mad. I just... I want to kill him (But I won't because I know it's illegal). Seriously, does this seem normal?

I feel you on that. I still hate my ex and the woman he cheated on me with and eventually married after we divorced. Honestly, I hate her more than I hate him. I can't even write the terrible things I wish would happen to her but it's not nice and I'm sure Clive Barker would love to know so he could write it into a horror movie. I do honestly pray about it and try not to think that way but some recent events have triggered my dark feelings to return. My heart goes out to you!

Don't let a loser like that ruin your life. Let go, forget about it, and you'll move on gracefully to someone who actually deserves you're love.

I had a similar thing happen to me with someone from my hs, and I came across their facebook once too, man, I was so pissed! But that was when I was still in the process of letting go. It took a long time, but finally I'm over it. Now, whenever I come across his facebook I just look and think, whatever. I don't care anymore. One day you're not gonna care anymore either.

Be the bigger person and get over it. Acting foolish like this (years later) only takes away the "shine" factor that you actually were the better, more honest person.

You really should focus your energy on something else. It sounds like you were kids at the time and everybody knows boys are immature little pricks at a certain age. Certainly not worth worrying about, move on and enjoy new boyfriends that deserve you
