Is it normal to still have webbed fingers?

I was born with my middle and ring fingers on both of my hands complexly webbed where the bones are connected to each other as well was the muscle and skin. After searching this online for fun one day (it's called syndactyly) I find out that people usually get this kind of thing fixed when they're still young. I am practically an adult and I've lived my whole life with these freakish hands, but my parents or anyone have never taken me in to get this corrected. Is this normal? What do you think are the reasons behind this?

  • i actually have the same thing, but on my toes on both feet. i never plan on getting it fixed. and you may be thinkin it is easier to have it on your feet but just think that it is something special. i love my feet because they are so unique! just flaunt it with pride like i do ;) and when people say things..it doesnt phase me at all you just have to have confidence.

Ask them! Maybe they didn't think it was a big deal or maybe they are even proud of them if its a family trait.
I'd get my kids fingers fixed as soon as possible but that's just me.

It's called syndactyly. Just a genetic problem where your hands did not undergo apoptosis during fetal development. It's actually not that uncommon. I'd only do something if it bothered or inhibited your life.
