Is it normal to still have feelings for someone after 5 years?

Me and this guy used to be really close we were like childhood sweethearts in primary school, by the time we were 12-13 we discovered we both did like eachother as more than just friends however after that we had just stopped talking completely, then about 1-2 years later when I finally felt like I was getting over him we caught a glimpse of eachother on the street whilst I was in my car, all the feelings I had for him came rushing back and I couldn't stop thinking about him so I attempted to talk to him again but then found out he had a girlfriend, I was upset but I was happy for him too, the girl was beautiful! After that we've not spoken at all but I still can't stop thinking about him and I just don't understand why I can't move on.

  • So you are 14-15 years old now? This is a website for the 18+ crowd because stories like this being asked on a daily basis by kids is super annoying.

You'll figure it out when you grow up.

well i can't really say I've felt the same for someone but i was with this guy for 8 months when i was 10 and he moved to Italy so we broke up but the other week i saw him and i realized that my feelings for him weren't as strong as i thought they were and what i have with my bf now is everything i ever wanted. maybe one day in the future you'll move one on but for some people it can take days/months even years for people to get over someone.
