Is it normal to still have feelings for an old friend

So i had feelings for an old friend, there was a time when we were so close, basically best friends but he started having suspicions that i was gay. Next thing i know their was this big confrontation with our other friends and i pushed them all away, cause i was humiliated and i didn't want to come out to them nor to myself. its Been a few years and i still feel something for him. is this normal? i feel like an idiot for holding a torch for someone who is probably forgotten all about me by now.. smh

    Yes, normal. I have a former business associate who I was very, very close with. Most people thought she and I were either together or married, we got along so well. Wouldn't say I hold a torch for her or certainly am waiting for her, but...I do miss her sometimes. Not the working us..The social, go to dinner, dance in the middle of a store as I bought her a Marylin Monroe-looking dress for an event, that she looked jaw-dropping in. I remember even the saleswoman in the store told me "You better take her somewhere nice in that. She's getting all gorgeous just for you".

    I still have feelings for her, yes..But am not waiting or carrying a torch for her. There's a reason why I got away from her, professionally, on purpose. Personally, just she and I..Yeah, I miss it and her.
