Is it normal to still fear freddy krueger years after?

Back in the old days when VCRs were popular, I decided one night to watch an old tape that has been sitting inside the cabinet for some time. It was called... THE NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET.

That night was also when I had my first nightmare.

I wish I could go back in time, and slap that tape out of my hand. "No." *burns the evil tape*

But I can't...

I had really high expectations. It was night, and it seemed like something interesting to watch. I don't think I had an idea of what "nightmare" meant. But I learned.

I've now had an abnormal fear of Freddy Krueger for some time... It took me a good 4 years to get over it.

I lied. I'm still afraid of him. Even to this day, every time I try to watch the 1984 version, I tear up.

Remember the song: One-two Freddies coming for you, three-four better lock the doors...
He had a creepy laugh, and this goose bump causing apathy.

Is it normal to still fear this horrible creature?

    Fuck Freddy! He never went into space, how tough can he be? Jason, Pinhead, Leprechaun. All those mothafuckas went into space. But not Freddy's weak sauce ass.

    I also feared the large hair and all the hair spray they used in the 80s.

    But one movie for me was "Under the stairs" that got me almost shitting in my pants.

    Its 2017 and im 35 years old...i first watched Nightmare On Elm Street when in was 10 years old...man im still terrified of that movie i just cant watch it just depresses me from the music (nursery rhyme) to kruger himself..its not one of the scariest movies around but in my personal opinion its one of the most terrifying and disturbing movies ever..Rest In Peace Wes Craven.
