Is it normal to still dream about meth

I smoked large amounts of crystal methamphetamine almost everyday for nearly six years. I did so much that it pretty much became my entire life and was just about the only thing i cared about. But on may sixth (about 12 days from today) i will be celebrating 2 years clean. The problem is that about six months ago i started dreaming about smoking meth about 4 or 5 times a week and still do to this day. Is this normal? Does anyone know when it will stop?

    Yes it's normal.. it's your brain acting out the want of obtaining your addiction to satisfy it through your dreams.. Dr. Bob Beck invented a device to help balance brainwaves to help completely get over addiction cravings.. a lot of people say it works! It wont see it approved from the FDA because well.. they want people addicted to their medications. I don't remember off the top of my head but heres a good place to start.     Its normal. Same thing happened to me when i got clean from cocaine & crack. They'll go away its just our brain messing with you. Stay strong!

      Yeah I still dream about doing coke..and it's been quite a while since last time.

    I have been off meth for 5 years now. I still have dreams about it. But I also have dreams turning the drug down. So I feel like if I have to dream about it at least I’m strong enough subconsciously to say no. I used meth for close to 3 years.

    The few times I tried it- when I was finally able to fall asleep I think I dreamed about it twice. Could taste it and everything. Reading others comments it seems like a natural occurrence

    It's normal as far as I know. I've been clean from meth for 10 years now and still dream a few times a year about it. Sometimes the dreams are so real I wake up feeling like I was really smoking it for a few minutes... It's unsettling and idk if it ever goes away =\

    Those are called pipe dreams. I had them while detoxing from meth in county jail.

    It might never stop, or it might lessen with time. You were addicted to it for so long.... I mean of course you'd dream about it. I've smoked weed every day for the past 4 years and whenever I run out I'll have dreams about getting some. It's normal. I just hope the dreams don't drive you to do meth again. It's just your sub conscious craving something you were addicted to for years.

    I quit smoking a week ago and I've started dreaming about cigarettes already! Totally normal to dream about something that was such a big part of your life. Hey, at least you get to be high in your dreams yeah? If you see it differently go see a dr and see if theres anything they can prescribe to stop you dreaming so much.

    As a former addict myself, yes it is quite normal and will eventually stop. Just please don't give in and go back to the meth!!!!

    When my mom tried to quit smoking, she had dreams of smoking cigarettes. So it's normal.

    Congrats on being clean. Did you go to rehab? Maybe you need to see a therapist.
