My ex says he misses me and wants to meet to talk. Have no idea he misses me as his girlfriend or as his friend... Is it normal to stay friends with your ex?

    most people end up dating/marrying their best friend so when most of them break up they still wanna be friends and mean it. but for some it can be awkward.

      Agreed. And if you become friends with him again and it goes well then you're probably going to end up loving him again.

    No. Stay away from exes, even as friends. It always leads to bad things and drama.

    I think some people just don't open themselves up to the possibility of friendships post-relationship. Personally, I friends with all but one of my ex's (embarrassingly I'm admitting I have a lot of those) which is due to her choice, not mine. I have great friendships with former girlfriends and I am lucky to have that. It also depends on the type of people one chooses to date...

    You can only be friends again once all emotions from the relationship have been forgotten. I would avoid it for at least three months after breaking up before considering friendship again.
