Is it normal to start hating my best friend?

Okay so, hate is a very strong word, but honestly, its how I'm starting to feel...

That's a lie. The feeling's been growing for five years.

Now, I've always loved her as my best friend, but theres always been a couple traits that bothered me. Now, right as I'm about to leave for my junior year at college, she's decided not to return to school, to continue at a dead end job, to continue to slack at everything, and to continue to ignore me for her boyfriend Matthew. Is it normal that I don't really want to be around her anymore, but at the same time feel a little hurt that she doesn't want to be with me...? Does that make sense. We've been friends since the sixth grade and now we barely see each other. We're very different people now but...I dunno, she's always been my best friend.

Normal. People change over time and people you like best always turn out to be the biggest assholes. Life is a bitch and I am sorry for using such a words, but I want to be honest.

I totally understand where you're coming from and yes that's VERY normal. As people grow up and have different kinds of people around them, they start to change too. Specially like you said, when they get into relationships.

People will go in and out of your life, it's the ones that stays that you should really be thankful and appreciate.

She's a grown woman making her own choices for her own life, it might upset you but just focus on yourself for now since your in college and let her do her thing and you do yours.
