Is it normal to smell that someone's horny

I knew a girl who claimed being able to tell by scent when a guy had not had sex for a while and was becoming desperate for it. She referred to it as "that sex smell" and seemed to assume that it was commonly known. Could it be that she was unusually sensitive to male sex hormones? I've heard of pheromones, but thought this was not a conscious thing. Could it be that her sense of smell was more highly developed? Is it normal?

    If her experience is like mine then it isn't the same smell for everyone. Girls have a smell that comes through their skin when they are horny. I can only pick it up from a couple inches away. Love it.

    I find it believable. Sense of smell varies considerably between individuals. Maybe she just has a good sniffer.

    We can sense pheromones, you're right, but not on the level that we could actually notice and recognise them.
    She's makin' it up. :)
