Is it normal to slow down on talking after awhile?

I have a guy friend (he's 20 and i'm 25) i've known him for 2 years but we didn't talk all the time until recently. We started talking near the beginning of June, mostly an everyday type of thing via texts or short facebook messages. This has now been going on for almost 4 months.

Lately though we've not been talking as much. Like he'll sometimes take 2-3 days before responding when before it was an everyday thing. Normally, i wouldn't care but i'm just so used to hearing from him on an almost everyday basis that it seems weird to me.

Is he just tired of talking everyday? Running out of things to say?
Which if he is i don't blame him, i get that way sometimes too. I just don't want to worry he's slowly going to stop talking when he's said countless times how much he likes talking to me.

I figured he wouldn't have continued it this long if he didn't like talking to me though.

    Yeah, it's pretty normal
That's the problem with constant digital communication. Eventually you just run out of things to say.

He probably was attracted to you and now has given up. That is how it was with my girlfriend before we got together. I would talk to her every day and then slowly it was less often. But finally, the last time I tried, I actually put in 100% effort and we have been together ever since. Just know that if you do not like him in that way, let him be aware of it.

Its quite difficult to keep up an online conversation after a while. It can get tedious, or you could run out of things to say. If you don't see each other every day or share experiences, you won't have many conversation topics.

But yes, if he did spend all that time talking to you I'm sure he enjoys it. It just becomes a hard habit to keep up.

^^^^ Could be that or basically he has given up hopes of getting with you so he isn't trying as hard anymore. I've done the same thing a few times.
