Is it normal to sleep either rolled up or under a mattress?

I have a lot of trouble getting to sleep most nights, and lay in bed for several hours awake before sleeping, but it always seems to help if I roll up in my blanket as tight as I can or sleep under my mattress, I love the feeling of both of those, is it normal?

I thought it was just me. I like the feeling of weight on me and often use the blankets to "mummify" myself tightly. It gives the same feeling as having a weight on you.

How is it possible to sleep under the mattress. To each his own, but I need to be wrapped up my blankets.

  • if i cant sleep i think about the next day, i go thru everything i will do, i imagine myself getting out of bed, showering breakfast etc , its boring but it turns off my brain and sends me to sleep

As someone who has chronic difficulty sleeping (but not insomnia, if that's the case you should seek help separately), I find myself in the exact same position as you. I lay awake for hours at night even if I'm tired, because I just can't get my thought process to wind down. I also like to keep my room cold and wrap myself like a burrito to keep warm.

I've been told by psychologists and doctors that it's advisable to get up and distract yourself for a little bit (read a book, clean up your room, even exercise) as opposed to lying there desperately trying to sleep. I think it's helped me a bit.

    Reminds me of spongebob
I didn't know it was possible though
I like to sleep under my bed or on the stairs when I can't sleep on bed
