Normal or not, I don't really know. I am not even sure what the f*** "normal" actually is, or if there really is any such thing.

But... I know I did that with both my mom (as a teenager) abd my wife (both before and after we wed). Of course, on the other hand, I did some times have sex with both of them - my mom in my teens and my wife in my late twenties and thirties on. So it was not just exclusively sleeping in the same bed and cuddling. With my mom, the coitus was sort of occasional, being about once a week most of the time. After my gf (and later wife) began having sex, we usually had sex quite a bit, sometimes several times a day, so there was less cuddling only. But it still happened occasionally, especially in later years as my virility really began to wane.
