I was was wondering is it normal to not care if someone like your parents died and just skip it and play video games instead not caring for their death?

I'm not going to mine but the video game part is silly do something productive with your time.
If your parents were bad to you, just wait for a couple months. Then visit their graves and be glad they are dead.
Yeah, normal. I've never understood the point of joining together with family, just to mourn and suffer for a few hours. It seems that there aren't any benefits to attending funerals when you relize that they're literally organized events of sorrow and pain. There are uplifting ways to cope with death of a loved one and sitting in a stuffed room full of people in tears isn't one of them.
Unless they caused yu intense physical/emotional harm, then you shouldn't do that. It's not just about the fact that you have to sit around in a funeral for a long time, but it reflects on yourself. Skipping your parent's funeral with no rational reasoning means you're a psychopath (and if you know it's wrong and you still do it, that makes you a sociopath)
