That is not, in fact, astral projection, but a general out-of-body experience (OBE). Astral projection is a lot more specific. Basically, when one astral projects, it's almost like you're soul is "zooming out" into the cosmos - which, of course, is an OBE, but very different than just seeing yourself. I used to astral project quite a lot when I was younger, but I've only ever had one general out-of-body experience where it was like there were two physical forms of me, one of them being a subconscious form of my soul, looking at my actual physical self. It was honestly stranger to me than any time I ever astral projected. I voted that it is "normal", because it's not like it's unheard of, or that you're "weird" for experiencing. However, I don't think it's all that common.

I agree with poon jabber bcuz I have experienced this too. It's also in ancient Egypt illustrated on tomb walls as well as meditations how to use 90 degree angles to go into higher dimensions.

Yes, this is normal. Now if you're doing this involuntarily, it would be depersonalization and would not be normal.

There is actually a name for this, 'Astral projection' and though not common, it is something many people can do.
I've heard tell the military has done some experimenting in this field, though that could be just an urban legend.

Yes, I can also "see" through someone else's POV by doing that.
