Is it normal to see your girlfriend only once a week?

I don't have a girlfriend (yet), but I do have a "lady friend" who I really like but there's just one problem. The problem is we go to different universities and we live about 45 minutes away from each other's houses. She commutes an hour and a half to school (crazy right?) because she cannot afford to live on or near campus. I live in an apartment within 2 miles from my school but I come home on the weekends. She can't live with me because there's no room in the apartment and her dad would not accept if we slept together anywhere without him being in the same building as us. Winter break is coming up soon and I can see her more often then, but that's it. If I become her boyfriend, I would try to spend as much time as possible with her, but I could only see her on the weekends (if I'm not too busy studying).

        When your not around her you want to see her more and that leads to talking. Im sure you talk to her a lot. Talking lets you get to know her better. Depending on how mature she is she will see it. Just stay away from friend zone. And let her know your infatuated by her.
