Is it normal to see shrek as the father i never had?

Ever since the first movie came out when I was a kid, I would always just see him as a cool dad to have around. Super strong and mean with a good sense of humor. Isn't afraid of anything and is fairly wise. His accent is really awesome too, wouldn't have minded growing up with that lol. Is this normal, looking up to this fictional character as a father figure?
