Is it normal to see patterns when i squeeze my eyes shut really hard?

When I close my eyes and push on them hard, I see a brownish pattern, the patterns vary, like, triangles, squares, pointy things, etc. It's really quite cool.

    I used to see those patterns in the dark when my eyes were wide open. I can't do it anymore, though.
